June, 1983

Kandace and Pam meet

Kandace works at Norrell Staffing Corporation as a Branch Manager and Pam was at Diamond Shamrock in the Human Resources Department. Norrrell specialized in temporary staffing for office and administrative positions.

Kandace hires Pam

Kandace hires Pam from Diamond Shamrock to work with her at Norrell to be her Office Manager.

October, 1985

Tri-Starr was born

Ribbon cutting ceremony was in December 1985 at the Forum Building at 8000 IH10, SAT. Specializing in office/administrative temporary positions again, Pam was Office Manager and Kandace focused on sales.

First logo account – USAA Insurance

Other clients we were working with; Tower Insurance, San Antonio Savings Association (SASA), Clarke Checks (Harland Clarke), Alamo Savings Association, Ray Ellison, Foleys, SwRI, Tesoro Petroleum, Valero, Gill Savings, USAA Real Estate, USAA Bank, American General Insurance. We were all about “personal touch”, both with our clients and our temporary workforce.

Experiencing major growth

Tri-Starr moved to the Fountainhead Building located at 8200 IH-10 San Antonio, Texas. Tri-Starr’s Corporate Back office was formed and moved to the 9th floor. The branch office was on the first floor, where all the operational and sales teams officed.

Tri-Starr sells to Corestaff

Kandace is retained by Corestaff through the buyout period.

Kandace “retires”

Kandace and Wayne Hawkins start a new venture in HR Logistics called TMSI.

October, 1997

Kennmark office opens

Ken Duke named President of Kennmark.

Pam returns to Kennmark as Operations Manager

December, 2008

New medical division

Kennmark opens a medical division named Kennmark Medical Staffing.

Kennmark Bullock Personnel

Kennmark bought Bullock Personnel (a firm specializing in Direct Hire placement) and changes name to Kennmark Bullock Personnel.

April, 2009
June, 2009

HUB, SCTRCA, Women Business Enterprise

Kennmark becomes HUB certified and certified with SCTRCA as a Small Business Enterprise and Women Business Enterprise.
Kandace, Vice President and Pam, Vice President became majority owners.

Kennmark reassumes Tri-Starr Personnel’s original name

December, 2011
September 2012

Senior Leadership Returned

Kandace returns to Tri-Starr full-time as President and CEO.
Pam became the VP & COO.
Ken became the General Manager.

Kennmark Bullock and Kennmark Medical Staffing are consolidated under the Tri-Starr Personnel name.

December, 2013
June, 2019

Jana Berton joins Tri-Starr as General Manager

Ken was promoted to President.
Kandace retains her CEO title.
