Pay Rate: $17-20/hr
Tri-Starr is seeking an individual with recent mortgage/loan origination experience to support the lending department while providing superior service to all members while providing thorough information on home lending products and services available, as well as assisting with the qualification and origination process.

Job Summary: The Home Loans Sales Assistant will be the initial point of contact through the multiple delivery channels.

The Home Loans Sales Assistants will be responsible for establishing an exceptional member experience through their knowledge of our home loan products and other offerings as well as basic underwriting expectations and items that may be required for loan approval.
As part of their duties the Home Loans Sales Assistants will also be responsible for providing prequalification letters to members or potential borrowers who are shopping for a new home. They will manage these leads until the member has given us a complete application at which time it would be referred to the Home Loan Originators.
The role is expected to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills and develop solid inter-departmental relationships. The Home Loans Sales Assistants should also identify key stakeholders and develop strong and productive cross-functional relationships throughout the Credit Union.
The Home Loans Sales Assistants should have a solid mortgage origination background and is expected to exhibit the ability to solve problems as they develop. The role requires understanding and continued education of all internal and external policies and procedures, federal and state laws and insurer requirements. The role requires competence and continued education of technical systems used to perform the duties of the position.
At least one year of mortgage experience post TRID (October 2015)
Good phone skills/ability to calculate basic debt-to-income ratios
A good history of perfect attendance
Residential Loan Lending or related field with a general knowledge of mortgages, basic mortgage calculations and definitions, mortgage underwriting, and Texas equities
Preferred Underwriting experience is a plus, processing experience is a plus
Required: High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred College degree is a plus but not required
